NCT07526480 · NOT YET RECRUITING

Improving Dementia Care in Primary Practice

This trial is testing a program called Improving Dementia Care, which aims to help primary care doctors detect cognitive problems earlier in patients who have not yet been diagnosed. It compares the program against standard enhanced care over six months, measuring how often impairment gets formally identified. This is a Phase NA study, meaning it is evaluating a care delivery approach rather than a drug or device.

You may qualify if

  • No previous diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or Alzheimer's disease (AD).
  • Have a scheduled PCP visit in the next 4-6 weeks
  • Have subjective cognitive impairment
  • Score ≥ 26 on the Telephone Interview for Cognitive Status (TICS)

You're excluded if

  • EHR evidence or previous cognitive evaluations, diagnosis of MCI or AD, or use of AD medications
  • TICS score of ≤ 11.00
  • Inability to provide informed consent
