NCT03657745 · RECRUITING

Alzheimer's Disease Treatment With Combination of 40Hz Light and Cognitive Therapy

This trial is testing an iPad app called AlzLife that flashes light at 40 times per second (40Hz) combined with cognitive exercises. The idea is that this flickering light may boost gamma brainwaves, which are reduced in Alzheimer's. Researchers want to see if the combination improves thinking, daily function, and quality of life. The phase is unspecified, so this is likely early-stage exploratory work, not a proven or approved approach.

You may qualify if

  • Alzheimer's disease
  • Cognitive Impairment

You're excluded if

  • any previously noted epileptic seizures, including febrile seizures.
  • any significant disease of the eye, such as macular degeneration. Since the 40Hz light therapy is delivered via eye stimulation, healthy eyes are required.
