NCT07550075 · NOT YET RECRUITING
Caring for Dementia Caregivers in Ethnic Immigrant Communities
This trial tests K-Savvy, a six-week online caregiver support program taught in Korean, adapted from an established program called the Savvy Caregiver Program. Researchers want to know whether it reduces stress and depression in Korean American family caregivers of people with dementia and helps them feel more confident in their role. This is a behavioral study, not a drug trial, and is focused on caregiver well-being rather than the disease itself.
You may qualify if
- self-identified Korean American adults 18 or older who provide care for a family member with ADRD as a primary caregiver, speak English less than "very well," and can attend virtual classes through an electronic device and the Internet. Primary caregiver is defined as someone who provides weekly minimum of 10 hours of in-home caregiving to a family member.
You're excluded if
- Because K-Savvy is not a mental health treatment program, individuals with severe depression (PHQ-9 score ≥ 20) will be excluded.
