NCT06400173 · RECRUITING

Validation Of The Flemish Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) For Persons With Hearing Impairment

This study is testing a modified version of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a standard memory-and-thinking screening tool, that has been adapted for people with hearing loss. The original test relies heavily on spoken instructions, which can unfairly penalize hard-of-hearing individuals. Researchers want to confirm whether this adapted version accurately detects cognitive impairment in older Dutch-speaking adults. This is a validation study, not a treatment trial — no drugs or therapies are involved.
