NCT06104436 · NOT YET RECRUITING

Individualized Music Playlist Based on ISO Principle for De-escalation of Agitation in Dementia

This trial tests whether a carefully sequenced music playlist — built around a person's preferred genres and arranged using the ISO Principle, a music therapy technique that gradually shifts mood — can calm agitation in people living with dementia in long-term care. It compares that playlist against simply playing favorite music or standard care. This is a Phase NA behavioral trial, meaning it is studying whether the approach works, not testing a drug.

You may qualify if

  • residents in long-term care facilities
  • diagnosed with any type of dementia
  • presented with significant agitation

You're excluded if

  • had been admitted to the facility for less than three months
  • are participating in other studies or experimental therapies
  • have a comorbid psychiatric illness
  • have physical illness that prevents them from listening to music

The sponsor's own eligibility wording, lightly reformatted. The study team makes the final eligibility decision — worth discussing with your doctor.
